Shreveport, Louisiana

Shreveport Louisiana is the third largest city in the state of Louisiana. Shreveport was founded in 1836 by the Shreve Town Company. It quickly became the center of steamboat commerce carrying cotton and agricultural crops. Shreveport was the capital of Louisiana during the Civil War. At one point, Shreveport was big in the oil business and was home to Standard Oil of Louisiana.
